Hey you mugs!

Insane! (Isn't this a putrid poster?)

Well, here you have it. The technology is winning its war of attrition with me.

1. I haven't swapped out the old receiver for the new one on my stereo. I bought the new one months ago. The wiring mangles! They're staring me down.

2. I haven't replaced the aux fuse in my car which recharges my XM, charges my cell phone and runs my discman (or whatever they're called now). I just re-charge my XM and phone every night and listen to the discman on batteries.

3. I haven't upgraded to iPod or other MP3-player, relying instead on the discman. Maybe I should revert back to my transistor radio?

4. I haven't re-installed my wireless headphones, although I really like them and would use them frequently to hear the tv while ambient noise is destroying my ability to hear. Also, I would use them to listen to music as a navigate the house and yard.

5. The old receiver, more powerful than the new, is going to power the "stereo system", upon which I play cassettes, cds and vinyl records. Again, this has been wanting re-install for months. And I love those vinyl records!

6. My at-home hook up for my work desktop is installed, but I can't get it to work. This would make my life much simpler, but the effort you know.

7. I haven't figured out how to burn dvd-readable photo disks from my computer. This has been going on for weeks.

8. I could really use to put a bunch of music on MP3 CDs for friends, myself etc. Duh.

9. I just started re-setting-up my disc player upstairs, which will have the XM home base, wireless headphones transmitter, etc. Its been sitting in a closet for 6 months.

10. My fax isn't working on my printer/copier/fax because the wires are set up wrong.

11. I have been meaning to upgrade my satellite tv, telephone, internet connections for about a year but can't figure out what to do. I know I can go cheaper and get better service, but uhnh....

There's more, but the deal is: I'm losing the war of attrition over here.

On the plus side, I did find my old postcard from William S Burroughs that I have been looking for for about ten years. It was in a blank book of really insane writing. When I get the time to scan and edit the card, I'll post it. Also, some of the writing really needs to be aired out. Its crazy.

Oh, you should ask my ex boyfriend to come visit you. He's a genius with all things wired. Especially audio. He loves vinyl, too. And he needs a friend. Don't tell him I said that.

:) K
